If you are a kidney cancer patient – at whatever stage from recently diagnosed to fully recovered – or have been a partner or carer to a patient (who may well not have survived the disease) you may like to take part in our survey. By doing so you will save other people for the suffering kidney cancer can cause.
The survey
This is an independent piece of research conducted by the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer. After you have registered (see below) we’ll send you a questionnaire with about 25 questions and space at the end for you to add any comments of your own. You can return the completed form to the James Whale Fund in a reply-paid envelope. Your views will remain anonymous at all times but those completing the survey can request a copy of the findings.
Our purpose
The James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer is committed to raising the awareness of the disease amongst the general public, clinicians and health policy planners and legislators. As part of this objective, this research will be the first nationwide survey of kidney cancer patients and carers.
The results will provide much needed information about how kidney cancer patients discover they have disease – and the action they take as a result.
Early diagnosis of kidney cancer can greatly improve the chance of a successful outcome. By conducting this research amongst kidney cancer patients and their carers, we will better understand the process of diagnosis and expect the findings of the survey to reveal ways in which diagnosis rates can be improved.
