The James Whale Fund has a dual mission to deliver increased awareness of, and fund research into, the causes and prevention of kidney cancer. James Whale supporters help the Fund by giving their time and/or money and we would love you to join our team and help with our vision to create a world in which individuals diagnosed with the disease can be cured.

Our basic philosophy for the ways and means of raising funds is to ask people to work alone or in small local groups and to do what they can to help. Our fundraising co-ordinator will help individual and group efforts to collect together the resulting funds. We aim to help people.

• Offering advice and support regarding your best ways and means on request.
• Putting you in touch with other volunteers in your area, by mutual agreement.
• Supplying you with working literature as needed (need a set of pub quiz questions?)
• Arranging for meetings if, as, and when necessary,
• Keeping you informed by regular contact, especially in terms of what we are all doing.

If you are not sure what you would like to do, please have a look at the A-Z Fundraising guide which suggests a number of the tried and tested activities used by charities to raise money in the past. If any of these appeal to you, get in touch and we’ll see how we can help. On the other hand, if you can think of something original, more appropriate to you and to where you live, it is more likely to be successful. Take a look at how one group raised over £3,000 by walking.

Please read it through, think about it and then get in touch so that we can get started!
